Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) announces recruitment for Pharmacists, Nurses, Engineers, Accountants, others -Apply Now

The Federal University Gusau (FUGUS), Zamfara State, has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for 17 non-academic positions across different departments and units of the institution.

The recruitment exercise is open to candidates with various educational qualifications, ranging from secondary school certificates to bachelor’s degrees, Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) and other relevant professional qualifications.

According to the recruitment notice, interested applicants are required to submit a typed application, 30 copies of their curriculum vitae (CV) and photocopies of relevant certificates and credentials.

The application deadline is November 18, 2026. The university stated that applications received after the deadline would not be considered.

The 17 advertised positions are:

  1. Technologist
  2. Internal Auditor
  3. Procurement Officer
  4. Pharmacist
  5. Nursing Officer
  6. Medical Officer
  7. Computer Operator
  8. Systems Analyst/Programmer
  9. Engineer (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical)

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Technologist

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree, with at least Second Class Lower, or an equivalent qualification in the relevant field.

Candidates must also provide a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate. Membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

2. Internal Auditor

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, with at least Second Class Lower, in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline from a recognised institution.

An NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is also required.

3. Procurement Officer

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree, with at least Second Class Lower, in Economics, Business Administration, Accountancy, Finance, Quantity Surveying, Insurance or a related discipline from a recognised institution.

Applicants must also have an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

4. Pharmacist

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from a recognised institution.

Candidates must be registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and hold a valid practising licence. An NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is also required.

5. Nursing Officer

Candidates must have a Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) degree or an equivalent recognised nursing qualification.

Applicants must also possess registration and a valid licence from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), as well as an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

6. Medical Officer

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a recognised institution.

Candidates must have full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and a valid practising licence.

7. Computer Operator

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Office Technology and Management or a related discipline from a recognised institution.

Membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

8. Systems Analyst/Programmer

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree, with at least Second Class Lower, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems from a recognised institution.

An NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is required.

9. Engineer (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical)

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.

An NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is required, while membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

10. Executive Officer (Account)

Applicants must possess an HND or university degree in Accountancy.

An NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is also required.

11. Store Officer

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree, with at least Second Class Lower, in a relevant field from a recognised institution.

An NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is required.

12. Accountant

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, with at least Second Class Lower, or an HND in a relevant field from a recognised institution.

Candidates must also provide an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

13. Legal Officer

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognised institution.

Candidates must have been called to the Nigerian Bar and enrolled as Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

14. Clerical Staff

Candidates must possess five credit passes in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB examinations, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

15. Confidential Secretary

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree, with at least Second Class Lower, HND or National Diploma (ND) in Secretarial Administration, Office Technology and Management, Business Administration or a related discipline from a recognised institution.

An NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is required for applicants to whom the requirement applies. Membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

16. Executive Officer (Admin)

Candidates must possess an HND or diploma in a relevant field from a recognised institution.

An NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is also required.

17. Administrative Assistant

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree, with at least Second Class Lower, in a relevant field from a recognised institution.

An NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is required, while membership of a relevant professional administrative body will be an added advantage.

How to Apply for FUGUS Recruitment

Interested and qualified candidates are required to submit a typed application stating the position and department or faculty for which they are applying.

Applicants must attach the following documents:

  • Thirty copies of their curriculum vitae.
  • Photocopies of relevant certificates and academic credentials.
  • Other supporting documents relevant to the position.

The application and accompanying documents must be placed in a sealed envelope. Applicants are required to write the position and department or faculty being applied for at the top-left corner of the envelope.

Information Required in the CV

Applicants are expected to provide detailed and accurate information in their curriculum vitae, including:

  1. Full name written in capital letters.
  2. Position and department or faculty applied for.
  3. Date and place of birth.
  4. State of origin and local government area.
  5. Nationality.
  6. Permanent home address and current contact address.
  7. Active email address and mobile telephone number.
  8. Marital status and number of children, where applicable.
  9. Institutions attended, including dates.
  10. Academic and professional qualifications, including dates.
  11. Professional registrations and memberships.
  12. Detailed employment history, including positions held, institutions, dates and responsibilities.
  13. Present employment, rank, grade level or step, and salary structure, where applicable.
  14. Detailed publication list, distinguishing journal articles, books or chapters, conference proceedings and other scholarly outputs.
  15. Research projects and postgraduate supervision.
  16. Administrative experience and community service.
  17. Professional or academic honours and distinctions, where applicable.
  18. Names and addresses of three referees, including the current Head of Department or immediate superior, where applicable.
  19. Any other relevant information that may support the application.

Referee Reports

Applicants must arrange for three referees to send their reports directly to the Registrar of the university.

Each referee must clearly indicate the applicant’s name and the position being applied for in the report.

Candidates should make the necessary arrangements to ensure that their referees submit the reports as required.

Application Deadline

The closing date for the FUGUS non-academic staff recruitment is November 18, 2026.

The university has stated that applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Interested candidates are therefore advised to prepare their documents and submit their applications before the closing date.
