Gov Yusuf, Emir Sanusi officiate mass wedding for 1,500 couples in Kano (Photos)
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Friday officiated the marriage of 1,500 couples under the state government’s Mass Wedding Programme.
The ceremony took place shortly after the Friday Juma’at prayer at the Central Juma’at Mosque located within the Emir’s Palace in Kano.
The large-scale event brought together 3,000 participants, including 1,500 brides and 1,500 grooms, as part of the government’s initiative to support marriages across the state.
Governor Yusuf served as the Wali (guardian) for the brides, while the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, represented the grooms during the solemnisation of the marriages.
The mass wedding is part of the state government’s initiative aimed at supporting couples and promoting marriage among residents.
