Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the national leadership of the Accord Party have endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

The decision was reached during a meeting held on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, according to a statement issued by Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for Governor Adeleke’s re-election campaign.

Olajengbesi said the governor and members of the party’s national leadership held extensive discussions on issues affecting the Accord Party before unanimously backing Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

The party’s leadership explained that its endorsement was driven by the need to ensure the completion of major infrastructure projects initiated by the current administration.

Among the projects highlighted were the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, which the party described as critical to Nigeria’s long-term economic growth and national development.

Discussions about the August governorship election were also held with the party’s leadership warning against violence, intimidation, electoral manipulation and the use of security forces against members of Accord Party in Osun State.

Members of the party’s national leadership present at the meeting include the National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem; Deputy National Chairman, Maryam Sale; the National Secretary, Ajaja Abiola Adebukola; National Treasurer, Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen; National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod; National Publicity Secretary, Omorogbe Joseph; among others.

Also in attendance were the party’s state’s chairmen from all over the country.
