#OsunDecides2026: Adeleke takes early lead as vote counting, results collation begin

Osun State Governor and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has taken an early lead in Saturday’s governorship election, following the announcement of results from three polling units.

Of the three results announced so far, Adeleke won two polling units, while his major challenger, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji, won the third.

Adeleke won Polling Unit 39 and Polling Unit 13, both in Ward 4, Osogbo Local Government Area, while Oyebamiji won Polling Unit 003, Alagba, also in Osogbo.

At Polling Unit 39, Ward 4, the results declared by the Presiding Officer, Oyeranmi Deborah, were:

Accord Party: 65

APC: 43

ADC: 2

AA: 1

AAC: 1

ZLP: 1

At Polling Unit 13, Ward 4, the results were:

Accord Party: 134

APC: 75

ADC: 4

ADP: 1

AAC: 1

APGA: 1

However, at Polling Unit 003, Alagba, Oyebamiji secured 177 votes, while Adeleke polled 60.

ADC candidate Najeem Salaam received three votes, while the Action Alliance (AA), Young Progressives Party (YPP) and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) each scored one vote.

Collation of results from other polling units and areas is ongoing, with the overall outcome yet to be determined.
