Tinubu concludes Saudi visit after lesser hajj, prayer inside holy Kaaba
President Bola Tinubu has wrapped up his visit to Saudi Arabia after performing the Umrah pilgrimage and gaining access to the Holy Kaaba in Makkah, where he offered prayers alongside members of his delegation.
The President, who left Abuja last Thursday, announced the end of his trip on Monday in a post shared on his X account.
Tinubu travelled with some state governors, cabinet ministers and members of Nigeria’s business community.
In his post, the President disclosed that he and members of his delegation were granted the rare opportunity to enter the Holy Kaaba, where they offered prayers, in addition to performing the Umrah pilgrimage.
He expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, for granting them the privilege and extending hospitality to the delegation.
He said the visit reflected the longstanding bonds of faith and friendship between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Tinubu added that he used the opportunity to pray for peace, unity and prosperity for Nigeria and its citizens.
