National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has admitted that the defection of former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has affected the party, but insisted it would only strengthen the ADC ahead of the 2027 elections.

Mark spoke on Wednesday at the party’s secretariat in Abuja while addressing members of the Forum of ADC Former and Serving Federal Lawmakers.

According to him, the party remains focused on presenting credible candidates capable of winning elections in 2027.

“No doubt, the exit of Obi and Kwankwaso has its impact, but it will spur us to work harder,” Mark said.

Also speaking, ADC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, dismissed concerns over the defection of lawmakers from the party, insisting that the party’s core structure remains intact.

“The people who left followed their idols whom they believe would help them win elections. We wish them good luck, but the core structures of our party remain intact,” he stated.
