Tinubu forwards names of Service Chiefs to Senate for urgent screening

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written to the Senate, seeking the screening and confirmation of the newly appointed service chiefs.

The letter, which was read on Tuesday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary, listed the nominees as General Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General Waheedi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Major-General Emmanuel Undiendeye as Chief of Defence Intelligence.

Following the reading of the President’s correspondence, Akpabio referred the request to the committee of the whole for screening and confirmation of the nominees next week.
