British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer, Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, popularly known as Denisi or Ego, has died at the age of 43 after undergoing a penis-enhancement procedure during a luxury holiday in Thailand with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen.

Details presented during an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court revealed that Ubiribo had about 40ml of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine injected into his penis at an unnamed clinic in Thailand in March.

The cosmetic procedure was subsequently linked to a fatal pulmonary embolism, according to evidence presented at the inquest.

After the procedure, Ubiribo and his wife reportedly returned to their Marriott hotel in Bangkok, where they went for a massage. He later complained of chest pain and collapsed twice before being rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital.

Although he was initially conscious, his condition deteriorated and he reportedly lost consciousness before doctors could perform a recommended CT scan.

Medical staff diagnosed him with a pulmonary embolism and transferred him to intensive care. Despite more than 100 minutes of CPR, Ubiribo died in the early hours of March 6.

A postmortem examination later conducted in the UK reportedly found cellular material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.

Following the inquest, Coroner Jean Harkin concluded that the cosmetic treatment had caused the pulmonary embolism, which ultimately resulted in Ubiribo’s death.

The case has renewed attention on the potential risks associated with cosmetic procedures, particularly those performed outside regulated medical settings.
