Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian music icon Shakira have achieved a major milestone with their collaborative song, “Dai Dai.”

The official music video for the track has surpassed 1 billion views on Shakira’s YouTube channel, making it the first song released in 2026 to reach the landmark.

The achievement further highlights the global appeal of both artistes and the growing international reach of Afrobeats.

“Dai Dai” was released on May 23, 2026, and was named the Official Song of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The video now has over 1,000,951,637 views and 7.8 million likes.

The collaboration blends Shakira’s Latin-pop sound with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats, and it gained massive traction during the tournament.

The duo also performed it at the World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico City and at the final halftime show.

The song is part of the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album alongside tracks from Davido, Ayra Starr and Rema.

Royalties from “Dai Dai” will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

The billion-view feat further boosts Burna Boy’s global profile and highlights the growing international reach of Nigerian Afrobeats while for Shakira, it marks her 10th music video to hit one billion views on YouTube.
