‘He hasn’t resumed office, yet he’s tired’ — Oshiomhole takes dig at Obi after exhaustion report
Former Edo State Governor and Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has taken a swipe at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over reports that the former Anambra State governor is recovering from exhaustion.
Speaking at the APC presidential campaign rally in Ekiti State, Oshiomhole said he did not want to discuss Obi, adding that the politician should be allowed to rest.
“I don’t want to talk about Peter Obi because I hear he is recovering from exhaustion. He hasn’t yet resumed office, and he’s already tired. Let us allow him to rest,” the senator said.
Oshiomhole’s remark followed reports from NDC officials that Obi was recovering from exhaustion, a development that has attracted political attention amid preparations for the 2027 general election.
However, Obi was in Calabar, Cross River State, on the previous day, where he attended a town hall meeting with residents at the Metropolitan Hotel.
The event brought Obi into public view amid the reports about his health, although his appearance at the meeting does not, on its own, establish the details of his recovery.
Oshiomhole’s comments have added another dimension to the political exchanges between the APC and the opposition NDC as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue.
