BREAKING: Supreme Court upholds President’s power to declare State of Emergency
The Supreme Court has confirmed that the President has the constitutional authority to declare a state of emergency in any state where public safety or governance is at risk.
The ruling explained that this power can be used to prevent a serious breakdown of law and order or to stop situations from escalating into chaos or anarchy.
The court highlighted that the purpose of such powers is to protect national stability and ensure that democratic institutions continue to function during extraordinary circumstances.
It noted that emergency measures are justified only in exceptional cases where normal governance mechanisms are unable to effectively address escalating crises.
