The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State has announced that 50 students abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area, have escaped from captivity.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, the CAN chairman in Niger State and Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, said the pupils regained their freedom between Friday and Saturday.
He added that the children returned home “quietly” and have already reunited with their families.
More to come.
