Chelsea agree deal to sign Danny Welbeck from Brighton
Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Brighton & Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck, with the experienced forward set to undergo a medical ahead of completing his move to Stamford Bridge.
Welbeck has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Blues on a contract that will run until 2028.
The former Manchester United and Arsenal striker is expected to finalise the transfer in the coming days.
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is said to have approved the move as he looks to add experience to his squad ahead of the new season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal on X.
“Danny Welbeck to Chelsea, here we go! Deal in place with Brighton for the English striker.
“Welbeck agreed terms with Chelsea until 2028, medical next; Brighton approved decision to let him go after formal request from Danny,” Romano wrote.
