Osimhen, Lookman lead Super Eagles squad for AFCON Qualifiers against Madagascar, Guinea-Bissau (Full List)
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) released the squad lists on Thursday ahead of the three fixtures scheduled for September and October.
Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named separate squads for Nigeria’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau, as well as the international friendly against Russia.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) released the squad lists on Thursday ahead of the three fixtures scheduled for September and October.
Nigeria will face Madagascar on September 25 and Guinea-Bissau on September 29 in the AFCON qualifying campaign before taking on Russia in an international friendly on October 6.
For the two AFCON qualifiers, Chelle retained several of Nigeria’s established players, including goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, while Arthur Okonkwo and Maduka Okoye were also included.
The defensive options comprise Bruno Onyemaechi, Calvin Bassey, Olaoluwa Aina and Bright Osayi-Samuel, among others.
In midfield, Chelle selected experienced players such as Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi alongside Frank Onyeka and Raphael Onyedika.
The attack is led by Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon and Tolu Arokodare also included.
Chelle, however, made several changes to the squad for the Russia friendly.
Chibuzor Atata and Samuel James were added to the goalkeeping options alongside Nwabali, while Kelechi Iheanacho and Popoola Abdulrasaq were among the players handed call-ups for the encounter.
The separate selections give Chelle an opportunity to manage his squad across the competitive AFCON qualifiers and the subsequent friendly against Russia.

Goalkeepers: Arthur Okonkwo, Maduka Okoye, Stanley Nwabali.
Defenders: Bruno Onyemaechi, Calvin Bassey, Olaoluwa Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, among others.
Midfielders: Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, among others.
Forwards: Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Tolu Arokodare, among others.
Super Eagles squad for Russia friendly
Chelle made a number of changes to the squad for the October 6 friendly, with Chibuzor Atata and Samuel James joining Stanley Nwabali in goal.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Popoola Abdulrasaq were also among the additional players called up for the Russia fixture, alongside other changes to the squad.
The Super Eagles will first focus on their AFCON qualifying assignments against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau before turning their attention to the Russia friendly.
