Panic in Kwara as two-storey building collapses, traps eight
No fewer than eight people are feared trapped after a two-storey building collapsed in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The incident reportedly occurred around 5:30am on Tuesday at PopoGiwa, Madalasi Zhogoro area, off Sijikobi Road, in Ilorin West Local Government Area of the state.
The early-morning collapse has raised concerns as efforts are expected to be made to determine the number of people trapped under the rubble and rescue those affected.
Very Nigerian reliably gathered that among those trapped in the building are nursing mothers and children.
Officers of the state fire service, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and residents of the area are currently carrying out rescue operations at the scene of the incident.
Officials of the State Emergency Management Agency were also at the site to carry out rescue operations.
