Seyi Tinubu presents Obi Cubana with CBM South-East leadership role
The appointment letter was presented by Seyi Tinubu, patron of the movement and son of President Tinubu, during a strategic CBM forum.
Nigerian entrepreneur and social influencer Obi Cubana has been officially appointed as the South-East Regional Director of the City Boy Movement (CBM), a youth-focused political platform aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The appointment was formalised last week during a strategic CBM forum, where Seyi Tinubu, patron of the movement and son of the President, presented Cubana with his official letter in the presence of key stakeholders and movement leaders.
At the event, Seyi Tinubu lauded Cubana’s influence among young Nigerians and his unwavering support for the current administration. “I want to first of all thank you for your support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and for youths and young people in Nigeria, especially in the South-East,” he said.
He went on to formally announce Cubana’s appointment, stating, “On behalf of the City Boy Movement, we present you your appointment letter as the Regional Director for the South-East. Congratulations on this new role.”
Seyi Tinubu also highlighted the organisation’s commitment to collaboration, leadership development, and national unity, emphasising that youth engagement and grassroots mobilisation are key tools for advancing the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Established in 2022 as a support structure for President Tinubu’s election campaign, the CBM has since grown into a nationwide youth platform aimed at educating, empowering, and mobilising young Nigerians and women around government policies and reforms. The movement works to raise awareness of government achievements, deepen public understanding of policy initiatives, and build a strong grassroots coalition capable of sustaining democratic continuity and national development across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.
The appointment event drew top CBM officials and business leaders, including Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, Director-General of the CBM; Favour Abayomi, National Coordinator; and Stanley Uzochukwu, Chairman of Stanel Group.
Following President Tinubu’s election victory, the CBM expanded its leadership structure by appointing state directors and local coordinators to help communicate major policy initiatives, including the fuel subsidy adjustments and broader economic reforms, directly to communities across Nigeria.
With Obi Cubana’s elevation as South-East Director, the movement signals a renewed focus on strengthening its regional presence, leveraging Cubana’s reach among youths and entrepreneurs to enhance civic engagement, policy awareness, and national development initiatives in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
