Step-by-step guide to checking the Nigeria Customs 2024/2025 final recruitment list

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has released the final list of successful candidates in its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise, marking the conclusion of one of the most competitive recruitment processes in the agency’s history.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, disclosed that 3,852 applicants were selected for employment from a total of 573,680 applications received nationwide.

Adeniyi described the exercise as highly competitive, noting that less than one per cent of applicants secured employment.

Candidates who participated in the recruitment exercise have been advised to check the official Nigeria Customs Service recruitment portal to confirm their selection and complete the mandatory post-selection procedures.

How to Check the Nigeria Customs Final Recruitment List

Applicants should visit the official Nigeria Customs Service recruitment portal and open the announcement containing the final list of successful candidates for the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise.

Candidates are expected to search for their names or application details to confirm whether they have been shortlisted.

The Service also advised applicants to regularly monitor the email address and phone number used during registration, as subsequent updates and notifications will be communicated via email and SMS.

Complete the Online Profile Update

Successful candidates are required to log in to the designated Nigeria Customs update portal using either their National Identification Number (NIN) or the email address used during registration.

After logging in, applicants must complete all required profile updates before proceeding to the next stage of the recruitment process.

Upload Medical Fitness Certificate

The Nigeria Customs Service directed all successful candidates to upload a valid Medical Certificate of Fitness issued by a government-approved hospital.

According to the Service, the upload must be completed on or before Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Failure to meet the deadline may affect further processing of the appointment.

Update Residential Information

Applicants are also required to provide and confirm their current state of residence on the recruitment portal before submitting their profile updates.

Candidates should ensure that all information provided is accurate and corresponds with their official records.

Accept the Provisional Offer

After completing the required profile updates, shortlisted candidates must formally accept their provisional appointment by selecting the “Accept Offer” option on the recruitment portal.

Only candidates who complete this step will proceed to the next phase of the recruitment process.

Await Further Instructions

The Nigeria Customs Service said applicants who successfully complete all online requirements will subsequently receive their Trainee Identification Number (TIN).

Information regarding physical documentation, screening, orientation, training schedules, reporting dates and designated training centres will be communicated through the Service’s official channels.

Recruitment Statistics

According to the Comptroller-General, the recruitment exercise produced 3,852 successful candidates, distributed across the three operational cadres of the Service:

• Superintendent Cadre: 1,275 successful candidates
• Inspectorate Cadre: 367 successful candidates
• Customs Assistant Cadre: 2,210 successful candidates

With only 3,852 successful applicants selected from 573,680 applications, the exercise recorded an overall success rate of approximately 0.67 per cent, highlighting the intense competition for employment into the Nigeria Customs Service.

The Service urged all successful candidates to complete the required online processes promptly and rely only on official Nigeria Customs communication channels for further updates, warning applicants to disregard unofficial information and avoid individuals demanding payment for recruitment-related assistance.
