Tinubu will lose 2027 election, rice, money won’t save him — Primate Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election, insisting that attempts to influence voters with money or food items would not succeed.

Speaking during a church service in Lagos, the cleric said Nigerians were experiencing widespread hunger and hardship, warning that public dissatisfaction could reflect at the polls.

Primate Ayodele also expressed support for recent comments by the Archbishop Emeritus of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, saying the cleric spoke the truth about the country’s current situation.

According to him, some prominent Pentecostal pastors have failed to tell the President the truth about the mood of the nation.

> “This is what I expected all these fathers of faith to say. I don’t want to mention their names because it’s not sounding right before God.

“I give it to Archbishop Onaiyekan for what he has said to the President. Leave him. Whether Tinubu accepts it or not, there is anger and hunger in the land.

“By the election, you will see how people will show their grievances. Rice and money will not stop it. We are telling you to do the right thing. All these surrogate aides will push you into a fire that will burn you. Tinubu will lose this election,” he said.

The remarks come amid increasing political debate and public commentary ahead of the 2027 general election, with various political, religious and civic leaders expressing differing views on the performance of the current administration and the country’s future direction.
