Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has rolled out a significant empowerment package for fast-rising visually impaired gospel artiste, Chris Vic, announcing the allocation of a plot of land in Uyo, a four-bedroom bungalow, and a ₦100 million recording studio for the young musician.

The governor also approved a monthly stipend of ₦1 million for the artiste for the duration of his administration.

Governor Eno disclosed the gesture in a statement shared on his official X handle early Sunday, describing the move as part of his government’s deliberate efforts to support persons living with disabilities and to encourage talent regardless of physical limitations.

According to him, the Commissioner for Lands has been directed to immediately allocate a plot of land in the state capital for Chris Vic, with the Certificate of Occupancy expected to be signed next week.

He added that the new home and the multi-million-naira recording studio, funded separately, will be delivered to the artiste.

Chris Vic, born Christian Victor Eshiet, is a 22-year-old singer from Eket who rose to national prominence after his electrifying performances on Season 4 of the De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt.

Known for his spirited gospel medleys and energetic dance routines, the visually impaired artiste captivated millions across TikTok and Facebook.

His collaboration with Team Unbeatable DC recorded millions of interactions online, while other worship performances attracted more than three million views.

A joint act with Glory Henry and Paskal also surpassed 1.1 million views on Facebook.

He eventually emerged second runner-up at the talent show’s grand finale, earning ₦3 million.

Governor Eno said the government’s support for the artiste was rooted in the belief that hope and gratitude should shine even during challenging times.

“Chris Vic reminds us that praise is possible in every situation.”

“I also want him, and all persons with disabilities, to know that this government cares,” he said.
