Veteran Juju Singer Saint Janet is dead
Veteran Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician, Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, widely known as Saint Janet, has died after a brief illness.
The respected entertainer reportedly passed away on Saturday, ending a music career that spanned several years and earned her admiration for her vibrant stage performances and unique ability to connect with audiences.
News of her death was made public on Sunday by publisher and socialite Otunba Femi Davies, who announced the sad development in a post shared on his Facebook page.
Saint Janet was a familiar figure in Nigeria’s Juju and Highlife music scene, where she built a loyal fan base through her energetic performances and memorable musical style. Confirming the development, Davies wrote, “St Janet (Iyun Janet Ajilore), a popular Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician known for her vibrant live performances, energetic stage presence and socially unfiltered party tracks, is dead. She died after a brief illness on Saturday.”
