The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, screening committee on Tuesday cleared former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by waiver ahead of the party’s presidential primary election.
Former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party National Working Committee Presidential and Governorship Screening Committee led by Tanimu Turaki, disclosed this in Abuja after the screening exercise on Tuesday.
Very Nigerian recalls that a faction of the PDP backed by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde had earlier announced that Jonathan would be screened as one of the party’s presidential aspirants on Tuesday.
Ahead of the planned screening Jonathan, who was expected to submit his nomination form on Monday, reportedly failed to show up.
