McPherson University opens applications for eight academic and non-teaching positions (How to apply)

McPherson University has announced the recruitment of qualified and experienced candidates to fill eight academic and non-teaching vacancies across various departments.

The university said applications are open to suitably qualified candidates who meet the educational, professional and experience requirements for their preferred positions.

Interested applicants are required to submit their applications on or before Friday, August 14, 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Academic Position

• Librarian I (MUTSSS 3)

Non-Teaching Positions

• Deputy Bursar II (MUNTSSS 14)

• Chief Accountant (MUNTSSS 13)

• Medical Officer II (MUNTSSS 10)

• Pharmacist I (MUNTSSS 08)

• Nursing Officer I (MUNTSSS 08)

• Senior Nursing Officer (MUNTSSS 09)

• Engineer II (Civil) – MUNTSSS 07

Eligibility Requirements

Librarian I

Applicants must possess: • Five O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics. • NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate. • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Call to the Nigerian Bar (B.L). • Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science (M.LS/M.LIS). • ICT proficiency, including knowledge of library software and databases. Professional certification will be an added advantage.

Deputy Bursar II

Applicants must possess: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (minimum Second Class Lower). • Professional qualification such as ICAN, ANAN or ACCA. • At least 17 years post-NYSC accounting experience, including five years as Chief Accountant. • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, payroll administration and accounting software.

Chief Accountant

Applicants must possess: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (minimum Second Class Lower). • ICAN, ANAN, ACCA or equivalent professional certification. • At least 14 years post-NYSC experience, including three years as Principal Accountant. • Excellent knowledge of financial management and accounting software.

Medical Officer II

Applicants must possess: • MBBS or equivalent qualification. • NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate. • Registration with the Medical Council of Nigeria.

Pharmacist I

Applicants must possess: • B.Sc. or Bachelor of Pharmacy (minimum Second Class Lower). • NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate. • Registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.

Nursing Officer I

Applicants must possess: • NRN and NRM certificates. • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. • Minimum of seven years post-qualification experience.

Senior Nursing Officer

Applicants must possess: • NRN and NRM certificates. • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. • Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience.

Engineer II (Civil)

Applicants must possess: • B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (minimum Second Class Lower). • NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate. • Registration with COREN.
