Gunmen attack Ibori’s daughter as APC congress turns violent in Delta
Violence broke out at the All Progressives Congress (APC) congress in Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday when Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency and daughter of former Governor James Ibori, came under attack.
The incident occurred at Ovade, the venue of the congress, Very Nigerian reports. Multiple people were reportedly injured during the chaos.
Sources say the attack happened shortly after Ibori-Suenu arrived at the congress, sparking panic among delegates and attendees.
The federal lawmaker and her supporters were attacked with guns and other dangerous weapons by the assailants, who denied her access into the venue of the congress. However, the attacks were foiled by the lawmaker’s security details.
Meanwhile, Ibori-Suenu have appealed for calm among APC supporters in the state.
