Dangote Refinery begins nationwide sale of Petrol at ₦739 per litre
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals (DPRP) has announced the commencement of nationwide sales of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, at a pump price of ₦739 per litre across all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations.
The refinery disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, describing the move as part of its broader mission to make fuel more affordable for Nigerians and stabilise the downstream petroleum market.
According to DPRP, the new price is being implemented across over 2,000 MRS filling stations nationwide, ensuring that motorists and other consumers can immediately benefit from the reduction.
The refinery commended MRS Oil and other marketers who have aligned with the new pricing regime, urging more operators to follow suit in the interest of economic recovery.
Dangote Refinery also cautioned against any attempt to create artificial scarcity or manipulate fuel supply in response to the price reduction, calling on relevant government agencies to remain vigilant and take decisive action against such practices, especially during the festive period.
“We commend MRS and other marketers who have demonstrated patriotism by reflecting the reduced price at the pump. We call on others to join this effort as a show of support for Nigeria’s economic recovery,” the statement said.
The refinery urged consumers to resist purchasing fuel at inflated prices and to patronise cheaper, locally refined alternatives, advising Nigerians to report any MRS station selling PMS above the approved ₦739 per litre via the designated customer service line.
“We encourage Nigerians to avoid buying PMS at excessively high prices when they can access locally refined fuel at ₦739 per litre from over 2,000 MRS stations nationwide,” the statement added.
DPRP further appealed to other petrol station operators to patronise its products to ensure that the benefits of the price reduction reach Nigerians across all outlets, promoting broader relief and a more stable downstream market.
“Our objective remains clear: to ensure consistent supply of high-quality petroleum products at affordable prices for Nigerians, while supporting economic stability and reducing dependence on imports,” the refinery stated.
