Lagos ports to receive 41 vessels this week, says NPA
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says about 41 vessels loaded with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive at Lagos ports between March 10 and March 16.
The authority disclosed this on Tuesday in its daily “Shipping Position” report made available to journalists in Lagos.
According to the NPA, the vessels are scheduled to berth at the Apapa Port, Tin Can Island Port and the Lekki Deep Sea Port.
Seventeen of the vessels are scheduled to discharge containers containing assorted goods, while the remaining 24 ships will carry bulk items such as urea, crude oil, petrol, fresh fish, bitumen, crude palm oil, and gypsum.
The authority further reported that eight ships and tankers have already arrived at the ports, awaiting berthing to offload petrol, general cargo, bulk urea, fertilizers, and containerized goods.
22 vessels are currently discharging cargo, including bulk wheat, salt, sugar, urea, gypsum, fresh fish, and assorted containerized items at the three ports.
The NPA reiterated its commitment to ensuring smooth port operations and timely handling of cargo to support trade and commerce in the country.
