Oyo Schoolchildren Rescue: ‘Bring out CCTV footage of kidnappers’ — Aisha Yesufu challenges FG
Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, has challenged the authorities to release CCTV footage of the kidnappers responsible for the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
Yesufu made the demand in a post on her verified X account early Saturday while reacting to the controversy surrounding the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi.
Her reaction followed Keyamo’s demand that Obi apologise to airport authorities and pay a ₦25,000 fine over an alleged violation of parking regulations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The minister had maintained that CCTV footage showed Obi’s vehicle was left unattended in a designated drop-off zone, contrary to airport regulations.
Obi had earlier alleged in a recent interview that the Federal Government was frustrating his activities and claimed his life was under threat.
Reacting to the development, Yesufu criticised the government for focusing on the airport incident instead of more pressing security concerns.
“Pathetic cowards! Let them bring out the CCTV of the kidnappers that took away children in Oyo or of the ones that have been terrorising citizens,” she wrote.
She added, “Majoring in the minor is all they are freaking good at.”
