PSG vs Lyon Ligue 1 match postponed amid violent protests in Paris
Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 home match against Olympique Lyonnais has been postponed from Sunday to Monday following a request from the police amid violent protests in the French capital.
The French Professional Football League (LFP) announced the decision in a statement, confirming that the match would now kick off at 8:30 pm on Monday.
“The LFP takes note of the police decree prohibiting the staging of the game between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday at 8:45 pm (1945 GMT)… and has decided to reschedule the match for Monday at 8:30 pm,” the league said.
French authorities are braced for another weekend of protests in Paris and across the country after some of the worst urban violence in years erupted on the sidelines of demonstrations a week ago.
