“The Pits You Dig for Me, You Shall Fall Into It – Sen. Natasha blast Akpabio over leaked audio
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central in the National Assembly, has reacted to the controversy surrounding Senate President Godswill Akpabio following the release of a purported audio recording linked to the ongoing dispute involving the two lawmakers.
Akpoti-Uduaghan made her position known in a Facebook post on Monday, September 21, 2026, where she accused the office of the Senate President of supplying materials to media organisations for publication.
The senator also directly addressed Akpabio, warning that actions allegedly being taken against her would eventually have consequences.
She wrote: “Dear Godswill Akpabio, Senate President of the Nigerian 10th Assembly… continue.
“Dear Punch Newspapers, Guardian Nigeria, and others… you may take the envelope and publish whatever Akpabio’s office sends to you.
“S.P. Akpabio, know that the pits you dig for me, you shall very well fall into.”
Her reaction followed fresh allegations by United States-based activist Sandra Duru, popularly known as Prof Mgbeke, who released a nine-minute audio recording on social media.
Duru alleged that Akpabio had engaged her to campaign against Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The claim differs from an earlier allegation made by Duru in 2025, when she alleged that the Kogi senator had attempted to recruit her to make allegations against the Senate President.
The latest recording contains a male voice which Duru identified as that of Akpabio.
Duru presented the recording as a preview of what she described as further disclosures concerning her alleged dealings with the Senate President.
The authenticity of the recording and the identity of the voice have not been independently established in the material provided.
The latest development adds to the continuing public dispute involving Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio, with fresh allegations and counter-allegations continuing to generate attention on social media and in the media.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, in her latest reaction, did not provide further details about the specific materials she alleged were being supplied by Akpabio’s office to media organisations.
