UNIJOS set to resume first semester Exams April 13
The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has announced that its first semester examinations will now continue from Monday, April 13, 2026, after several papers were postponed due to security concerns in Plateau State.
The decision was reached during a management meeting held on Friday, April 3, 2026, where the institution reviewed the situation surrounding recent threats to students’ safety.
These concerns had earlier led to an extension of the Easter holidays.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Registrar, Information and Public Relations, Emmanuel Madugu, the university confirmed that all examinations will resume on the new date, beginning with those that were initially scheduled for March 30 but had to be postponed.
The university reassured students and staff of its commitment to safety while urging all affected candidates to prepare accordingly for the rescheduled examinations.
“Students are advised to contact their Faculty Examinations Time Table Officer for further clarification,” the statement added.
Management assured students still on campus of their safety, saying security has been significantly strengthened.
They urged vigilance and immediate reporting of any suspicious activity to the University Security Division.
“Normal university activities are expected to resume from Tuesday, April 7, 2026.”
The statement emphasised that management is collaborating closely with relevant security agencies to ensure no breach of peace is tolerated on campus.
