2027: ‘We will deliver nothing less than 3 Million votes for Tinubu’ — Fubara declares
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged that the state will deliver no fewer than three million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Fubara made the declaration on Saturday while addressing President Tinubu at the Rainbow Coalition Presidential Rally in Rivers State.
The governor assured the President that political leaders and supporters in the state would work towards securing a decisive victory for him, adding that the effort would be carried out under the guidance and direction of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
“We promise that under the guidance and direction of our leader Wike, we will deliver a decisive victory with a vote of nothing less than 3 million for President Tinubu,” Fubara said.
The declaration is significant against the backdrop of the political crisis that previously characterised relations between Fubara and his predecessor, Wike, before President Tinubu intervened to broker a reconciliation between the two camps.
Fubara’s latest statement publicly acknowledges Wike’s political leadership in the state’s mobilisation for Tinubu, while setting a three-million-vote target for the APC ahead of the 2027 general election.
Whether the state will meet the target remains to be seen as political activities and preparations for the next presidential election continue.
