Gombe Gov boost cabinet, appoints three commissioners, six SAs

Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of three commissioners-designate, two special advisers and four senior special assistants as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s administration.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, announced the appointments in a statement issued on Tuesday.

According to Njodi, the governor has forwarded the names of the three commissioners-designate to the Gombe State House of Assembly for screening and approval.

The appointments are expected to further strengthen the state government’s administrative structure and support the implementation of its programmes and policies.

He said the nominees are Dr Ahmed Wali Doho, Nasiru Adamu Degri and Dr Muhammad A. Bello.

The SSG added that the governor had also approved the appointment of Abdulmalik Jibrin and Mohammed Nuhu as Special Advisers.

Similarly, Njodi announced the appointment of Jibrin M. Ali, Sadiq Abubakar, popularly known as BB Kumo, John Launa and Danlami Sanda as Senior Special Assistants II on Political and Community Engagement.

“The appointments take immediate effect, while the appointments of the Commissioners-designate remain subject to the approval of the State House of Assembly,” the statement said.

The appointments, according to the government, are aimed at enhancing effective coordination and supporting the implementation of the administration’s development agenda.

Yahaya, who was first elected governor of Gombe State in 2019, secured a second term in office in the 2023 governorship election.

His administration operates through the state executive council and various political and administrative offices responsible for implementing government policies and programmes.
