I’ve never seen a President with better plans for Nigeria than Tinubu — Masari

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Masari, has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he has yet to see a Nigerian president with better plans for the country.

Masari made the remarks while addressing a group of women at a public event reportedly held in Kaduna.

Naija News reported that his comments were contained in a video published on Tuesday by HM Arewa, a media platform that reports in Hausa.

The former Katsina State governor said his nearly four decades of involvement in Nigerian politics had given him the opportunity to observe successive administrations and assess their plans for the country.

According to Masari, Tinubu stands out among the presidents he has witnessed because of the plans and policies being pursued by his administration.

“Even if I were asked to swear, on my age and my political involvement for almost 40 years, I can confidently say I have never seen a president with better plans to make Nigeria great than Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I have simply never seen anyone like him,” he said.

Masari also criticised those who claim that Tinubu has done nothing since assuming office, saying they fail to appreciate efforts they believe are producing positive results.

“The people who claim that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done nothing are the kind of people who never appreciate when someone is doing well,” he said.

The former governor also condemned what he described as divisive religious and ethnic rhetoric, questioning the notion that religion belongs exclusively to any particular ethnic group.

“What surprises me about our people when they talk about religion is this, is religion exclusive to the Hausa, the Yoruba, or even the Igbo?” he asked.

Masari urged Nigerians to reject divisive narratives, arguing that such rhetoric was being promoted by people driven by selfish interests.

“Each and every one of you knows how to talk to her husband or children better than anyone else can. This divisive talk is only being pushed by people who are deeply selfish,” he said.

Masari’s remarks amount to a public endorsement of Tinubu’s leadership, with the former Speaker citing his extensive political experience as the basis for his assessment of the President’s plans for Nigeria.
