Arsenal beats Burnley 2-0, extend clean sheet run to seven games
Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge continues to gather momentum, built on the foundation of a rock-solid defence that once again proved decisive in their 2-0 win over Burnley.
Despite Burnley scoring five goals in their previous two matches, they struggled to threaten Arsenal throughout the encounter.
The Gunners have now gone seven consecutive matches in all competitions without conceding a goal, their last coming on September 28, underlining the defensive discipline that has made them clear title contenders.
Arsenal’s strength, however, goes beyond their defensive solidity.
They have also emerged as the Premier League’s most dangerous side from set-pieces, with their opener at Turf Moor marking their 12th goal from a dead-ball situation this season.
Although it’s still early in the campaign, Mikel Arteta’s men are showing the consistency, balance, and belief needed to mount a serious challenge for their first league crown since 2004, especially as their main rivals continue to drop points.
For Burnley, the result may have been disappointing, but their second-half display offered signs of encouragement.
After failing to register a single shot in the first half, the Clarets were far more adventurous after the break, enjoying more possession and posing greater attacking threats.
Their effort was acknowledged by fans, who applauded the team off the pitch for a spirited performance.
