Drama as Oyegun locks Owie out of ADC caucus meeting in Edo
Tension rocked the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday as two prominent leaders of the party, Chief John Oyegun and Senator Roland Owie, disagreed over who had the authority to convene a caucus meeting.
The disagreement deepened when Oyegun, a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, reportedly stopped Owie and his supporters from attending a caucus meeting held at his residence in the Government Reservation Area (GRA).
According to sources, Owie and his associates arrived at the venue to protest what they described as an unauthorized meeting. However, they were denied entry at the gate, with suspected thugs allegedly preventing them from accessing the premises.
As of press time, police officers had been deployed to the residence to maintain order.
