FAAC distributes N1.92trn revenue among FG, States, LGs

The Federation Account Allocation Committee shared a total of N1.92 trillion in November among the federal government, state governments and local government councils.

According to a report by the Nigerian Television Authority on Monday, the revenue was shared at the committee’s December 2025 meeting held in Abuja and chaired by the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite.

The communiqué issued at the end of the meeting stated that the N1.92 trillion distributable revenue consisted of N1.40 trillion from statutory revenue, N485.83 billion generated from value-added tax, and N39.64 billion from the electronic money transfer levy.

FAAC said gross revenue available in November was N2.34 trillion.

The committee added that deductions for the cost of collection amounted to N84.25 billion, while total transfers, interventions, refunds and savings were N330.62 billion.

“Gross statutory revenue of N1.736 trillion was received for the month of November 2025. This was lower than the sum of N2.164 trillion received in the month of October 2025 by N427.969 billion,” the communique said.

‘VAT REVENUE DECREASED BY N156BN’

FAAC said gross VAT revenue in November was N563.04 billion, representing a decrease of N156.78 billion from the N719.82 billion distributed in October.

From the stated amount, the sum of N22.52 billion was allocated for the cost of collection, and the sum of N54.68 billion was given for transfers, intervention and refunds.

The communique said out of the N1.92 trillion distributable revenue, the federal government got N747.15 billion, while the states received N601.73 billion.

FAAC added that local government councils were allocated N445.26 billion, and N134.35 billion (13 percent of mineral revenue) was paid to the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

On the N1.40 trillion distributable statutory revenue, FAAC said the federal government received N668.33 billion, and the state governments received N338.98 billion.

“The local government councils received N261.346 billion and the sum of N134.355 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared to the benefiting States as derivation revenue,” the communique said.

“From the N485.838 billion distributable value added tax (VAT) revenue, the federal government received N72.876 billion, the state governments received N242.919 billion and the local government councils received N170.043 billion.

“A total sum of N5.947 billion was received by the Federal Government from the N43,400 billion Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), the State Governments received N19.823 billion and the Local Government Councils received N13.876 billion.

“While N1.736 billion was allocated for cost of collection, while the sum of N2.018 billion was given to transfers, refunds and savings.”

FAAC said excise duty increased moderately, while petroleum profit tax (PPT), hydrocarbon tax, company income tax (CIT) on upstream activities, CIT, capital gain tax (CGT), SDT, oil and gas royalties, import duty, CET levies, VAT, EMTL recorded substantial decreases.
