Tragedy in Abu Dhabi as intercepted missile kills two, injures three
Two people have been confirmed dead and three others injured after falling debris from an intercepted ballistic missile struck the outskirts of Abu Dhabi.
According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the incident occurred after air defence systems successfully intercepted the missile. However, debris from the interception caused casualties on the ground.
“The incident resulted in the deaths of two unidentified individuals, three injuries, and damage to a number of cars,” the office said in a post on X.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the victims or the source of the missile, but investigations are ongoing.
