Bauchi APC stakeholders reject Gov Bala’s planned defection, declares him persona non-grata

Fresh moves by Bala Mohammed to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections have been firmly rebuffed by party stakeholders in Bauchi State.

The Bauchi APC caucus and state-level party leaders warned that admitting the governor would jeopardise party cohesion, credibility, and electoral prospects in the state.

Reading the resolutions after a meeting in Abuja, Samaila Dahuwa Kaila, a party leader, stated that the caucus unanimously opposed Mohammed’s proposed defection.

The group cited the governor’s prior public statements critical of the President and the APC, noting that he had neither retracted these remarks nor sought reconciliation. According to the stakeholders, bringing him into the party under such circumstances would undermine unity and stability within Bauchi APC.

The caucus also criticised Mohammed for failing to consult key party stakeholders on a significant political move, describing the omission as unacceptable and contrary to internal democratic norms.

According to party sources, the caucus intends to formally communicate its position to APC authorities, insisting that due process and respect for established structures must be observed.
