The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of sensitive election materials ahead of Saturday’s Ekiti State governorship election.

The exercise, which began early Thursday at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) office in Ado-Ekiti, was supervised by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Bunmi Omoseyindemi, and monitored by security agencies, including the Police, DSS, NSCDC and Immigration Service.

INEC officials from the 16 local government areas of the state received and signed for election materials before transporting them under security escort to their respective destinations.

Omoseyindemi described the process as smooth and well-coordinated, assuring residents of the commission’s readiness to conduct a credible, transparent and peaceful election.

He urged eligible voters to come out in large numbers on election day and exercise their constitutional right to vote.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police overseeing election security, Abayomi Shogunle, assured voters, election officials and observers of adequate protection throughout the electoral process, urging residents to participate without fear or intimidation.
