Outrage as NYSC portal glitch frustrates 2025 Batch C registration
Thousands of prospective corps members across Nigeria have expressed anger and disappointment over persistent technical issues on the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) registration portal, which have hindered the completion of the 2025 Batch C registration process.
For several days, applicants have battled with constant network failures and slow system responses that made registration nearly impossible.
Many described the experience as stressful and emblematic of Nigeria’s recurring digital inefficiency in public service delivery.
Though the NYSC management extended the registration deadline from Sunday, November 9th, to Tuesday, November 11th, the portal’s technical problems persisted, leaving many stranded at cybercafes nationwide.
In reaction to the growing public outrage, the NYSC issued an official statement acknowledging the difficulties and assuring prospective corps members that efforts were ongoing to resolve the challenges.
According to the statement titled “2025 Batch ‘C’ Online Registration which was posted on X: NYSC Working Round the Clock to Address Difficulties”, the management attributed the problem to network issues affecting registration speed.
“The longer than usual time it is taking some PCMs to complete the registration is as a result of network issues.”
“While Management regrets the inconvenience this might have caused our valued PCMs, we wish to assure all that we are working round the clock to resolve the issues and ensure they enjoy seamless registration,” the statement read.
The Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, added that the registration period had been extended by 48 hours till midnight of Tuesday, November 11, 2025, to allow prospective corps members complete their registration.
Despite this assurance, frustration remains widespread among applicants who have taken to social media to vent their anger.
Many have described the situation as a repeat of previous years’ experiences, accusing NYSC and its technical partner, Sidmach, of negligence and inefficiency.
Blending reactions from some prospective corps members, the disappointment is evident.
Mohammed Umar described the ordeal as “disappointing and unacceptable,” arguing that other government agencies, such as the Correctional Service, handled larger recruitment exercises without similar issues.
Vivian shared her frustration about being stuck on an unresponsive page for over 30 minutes, while Ogbu Rita expressed confusion over repeated technical errors, humorously asking if “NYSC is calculating physics.”
Ivory, another applicant, said she completed her registration but had been unable to make payment for two days, while Alex Oyia criticized NYSC and Sidmach for poor management despite the agency’s huge annual budget.
For many like IKIKS, who recalled similar experiences from previous batches, the recurring technical glitches have made the registration process a dreaded annual ritual rather than a moment of national pride.

suspended everything in my life this week so I could just register for NYSC. It is the end of the week, I have not registered for NYSC and I have not accomplished any other thing this week. I feel so angry and very devastated

It appears Nigeria is neither ripe nor ready for effective Internet usage. The only sector that can be rated 60% in terms of online functionality is the banking industry. Something as simple as buying a train ticket can’t be done online. NYSC, oriburuku le nse.
